Six Chair Productions was founded by Boston-based music industry veteran James Macdonald. James brings two decades of music industry, marketing and event production experience to Six Chair. Prior to founding Six Chair, James developed and executed marketing programs at Virgin Records America and The Life is Good Company.

Previously, James spent close to a decade at Virgin Records as the Northeast Regional Promotions Director. While managing and executing promotional activities for artists such as The Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz, KT Tunstall, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, 30 Seconds To Mars, Ben Harper, Korn and Norah Jones, James cultivated relationships with over seventy radio stations contributing to forty top-ten and seventeen number one hit songs for Virgin artists.  Additionally, from 2014-2016, he was responsible for all aspects of marketing, web and social media strategy for 525 Worldwide Music Company a boutique artist management firm representing clients including Trombone Shorty & Orleans AvenueMavis StaplesLake Street DiveThe Record Company and Ryan Montbleau.

When he is not dreaming up new events, seeing live shows or obsessing over his music collection, James can be found enjoying family life and all that Boston and New England has to offer at the beach and in the mountains.
